In pre-Titleist days, the Catalina was known as the Classic X. It uses a variation of the Newport head with a double-bend shaft for less toe flow and more face balance. It is longer from heel to toe to make up for the weight lost in the no-hosel design. The Catalina has a single, thicker sightline for alignment and even though the head is similar to the Newport, the sound and feel at impact are strikingly different.
