The Newport model draws its inspiration from the Classic 1, one of the first putters produced by Cameron Golf International in late ‘92, and made famous in the ‘93 Master’s win. The Newport has a plumbing neck for 1/4 toe hang. The Newports radius topline and softened edges create a more natural, soft look, and the use of a teryllium inlay produces a distinctly soft sound and feel. Teryllium, an alloy of 12 metals backed by an elastomer membrane, produces the softest feel in the Cameron line. Evidence of the new alloy’s exceptional performance characteristics can be found in the TeI3 Newport’s role in winning the 1997 Masters.
