Limited Release Newport Beach 1.5 Prototype

The 2004 Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5 combines the proven performance of the Santa Fe or 1.5 designs with the unique sound of the floating face, or Beach. To make this putter even more special, the first 500 of the Newport Beach 1.5 model are stamped prototype and come with a red Studio Design grip and electric blue headcover. This is the same design that Scotty sent out to Tour to be played and tested by the game’s best golfers. Scotty took the refined Newport head, milled from 303 stainless, wider from front to back with a thinner topline, and cut a slit into the face of the putter, which stops just short of the top. This floating face gives the Newport Beach 1.5 its distinct sound. Traditionally, the slit was cut into the flange of the putter but as the cut is moved closer to the face Scotty can manipulate the sound pitch changing the characteristics of the feel by changing the sound.
