Studio Stainless® Newport Beach 1.5

The new for ’04 Studio Stainless Newport Beach 1.5 combines the proven performance of the Newport design with the unique sound of the floating face, or Beach. This combination creates the perfect blend of sound and feel. Scotty took the refined Newport head, milled from 303 stainless, wider from front to back with a thinner topline, and cut a slit into the face of the putter, stopping just short of the topline. This floating face gives the Newport Beach 1.5 its distinctive sound. Traditionally, the slit was cut into the flange of the putter but as the cut is moved closer to the face Scotty can manipulate the sound pitch changing the feel of the putter. The Newport has been a Tour favorite since it was first introduced in 1994 as the Classic 1.5 when Scotty had his own company. The floating face is a proven enhancement.
